Happy New Year, everyone!
I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year, despite any lockdown restrictions you may have been under.
2020 seemed to come and go in a flash. Of course, it was a very quiet year for live music. At the time of writing, it’s been a year since I last played a ‘proper’ gig. Previously, I hadn’t had such a long break from live performance since I was 15 years old and at times it was pretty disheartening seeing gigs and even a major tour postponed until 2021.
Luckily, I remained busy with teaching, but the time away from live performance allowed me to put more hours into guitar practise and explore previously uncharted sides of my playing. I know some of you have had a similar experience. I’ve received some wonderful emails from members who, after finding themselves with more free time on their hands, have taken the Absolute Blues Guitar course and have seen some transformative results. Your feedback means a lot.
I don’t want to dwell too much on the pandemic, since I’m sure there’s enough of that filling up your news feeds. There does seem to be some serious light at the end of the tunnel, so here’s to a positive and hopefully musical 2021!
Stay safe, everyone!
All the best,
